After the record amounts of precipitation in East #Tyrol and Upper Carinthia at the weekend, an Italian low has now formed after a day’s break. It brings heavy #snowfall again in East Tyrol and Upper Carinthia from noon today to Wednesday evening. The greatest amounts fall in the coming night.
Overall, there is another 30 to 60 cm of fresh snow in East Tyrol and Upper Carinthia. In the Lienz Dolomites and the Carnic Alps, around 1 meter of snow falls in places on the mountains.A little rain can briefly mix with #snow only in very low areas.
Possible effects:
Due to the recent large amounts of snow, the avalanche situation remains critical. The snow load on trees and roofs continues to increase. Power outages due to falling trees are therefore possible.The restrictions on road and rail #traffic remain in place in many places and new closures can be expected in the affected areas.
